Grade 8 Day - Nov. 21

Thursday, Nov. 21 is Jarvis Grade 8 Day!  Grade 8 students from local schools will visit and students will begin deciding if they want to come to Jarvis.  It is up to us to help them see what an amazing school Jarvis is in the best way we can - with MUSIC!

Here are the performances:
12:30PM - Jarvis Jazz will play in welcome assembly in Auditorium
1:10-2:45PM - Concert Band, Grade 11/12 Band, Grade 11/12 Strings and Strings Ensemble perform  in the auditorium for four groups of 20-90 students.

3:30PM-6:00PM -Video Game Arcade in room 348 and PIZZA for performing musicians.  Bring your consoles and games!

6:30-7:00 PM - Concert Band (Grade 11/12 Band) and Grade 11/12 Vocals perform at Grade 8 Parents night in Auditorium

Final camp update

Our campfire and s'mores feast last night was delicious.  At today's final performance we played Blue Ridge Reel, Friend Like Me, Sway, Loki and Earth Song. Well done folks. You played so well and were awesome Jarvis ambassadors. Thanks for a fantastic weekend.

Music Camp

Tomorrow 5 students from Jarvis will head to music camp (4 band and 1 string) to join about 40 other students from TDSB schools for music making and fun outdoor leadership activities in the beautiful Muskoka region. Have fun folks!
We will be meeting tomorrow at 7:45AM in the band room to collect instruments and board the bus.

TSO Field Trip - Tuesday, Nov. 12 - Instructions

Our field trip to see the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at Roy Thomson Hall is this Tuesday, Nov. 12. 

- Grade 9 students should meet in the Band Room (348) at the beginning lunch.  Grade 9s can bring their lunch and eat before we all depart together on the TTC.  Bring your tickets or change for the TTC.

- Grade 10, 11 and 12 students should leave Jarvis by 11:50AM and meet in front of the big Roy Thomson Hall sign on the corner of King St and Simcoe St at 12:30PM.  Grades 10-12 students are responsible for getting to Roy Thomson Hall on their own.  Go in groups please!
